The delegation of the European Food Banks Federation visited Ukraine on 3-13 October 2023. The delegation was chaired by FEBA President Jacques Vandenschrik and consisted of Bernard Valluis FEBA Board of Directors Member, and Sofiia Vara, FEBA Project Manager – Ukrainian Crisis. Also, Christopher Rebstock GFN’s Canada, Europe, and South Asia program director has joined the visit.
They had possibility to see the work of the Ukrainian Food Banks Federation and go to the “fields” in Kyiv, Kherson and Kharkiv regions to assess the situation in the country from the perspective of a humanitarian crisis. Also, they had numerous meetings with national and local authorities, religious leaders, and corporate executives, which were very fruitful for the future of food banking in the country.
